The 7th grade class went to the "Build My Future" event earlier this month that was put on by Southeastern Community College in Burlington. This event allows kids to explore trade programs and provide them with hands on opportunities throughout the day. The four explorations during the day were: interior trades, exterior trades, tools and equipment.
This trip was made possible by the GEAR UP grant that we received. GEAR UP stands for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs and is a federally funded program. We are lucky to have received this and look forward to providing children with more opportunities in the future and help guide them down a successful path after high school.
