
Mustang Pride Day deadline is quickly approaching!


Dear Parent, Guardian, or other Legally Responsible Adult:
Our school is getting ready to administer an annual school climate and culture survey called Conditions for Learning to students in grades 9-12. This survey administration is required by the state’s plan to meet a federal law called the Every Student Succeeds Act. Our school will conduct the survey the week of April 25th. All Iowa public school districts will use the Conditions for Learning Survey (Survey) to improve safety, student engagement and the overall learning environment so that all Iowa students have optimum conditions for learning. Our work to improve safety, student engagement and the overall learning environment will have a lasting impact on the future.

**Prom Information**
Date: April 23, 2022
Promenade will begin at 7:30, location to be announced soon. We do plan to livestream the event.
Prom will begin at 8:30 and run through midnight at the Mutchler Center.
After-Prom will begin at midnight at the middle school.
Picture forms are available in the high school office. Order forms and payment will be collected when photos are taken.
Any junior or senior who plans to bring someone who is not a Davis County student will need to pick up a guest permission form in the high school office.

Don't forget to call the high school office at 641-664-2200 ext 1132 to be added to the list for Mustang Pride Day! Deadline to sign up is April 15.

Davis County High School is proud to announce that the annual Mustang Pride day will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022. This day is dedicated to the students of the high school giving back to the their community by washing, raking, painting and general sprucing up of Bloomfield and the surrounding county communities. On Wednesday, as part of the new teacher induction series led by Ms. Stephanie Bassett, new teachers completed their Stop the Bleed training. They practiced using tourniquets and learned the ABCs of stopping blood flow.
New Teacher Induction is a structured program to support new-to-district and new-to-profession teachers. The DCCSD program includes orientation, mentor pairing and other support.


Due to road conditions, Davis County Schools will be running on a two hour delay schedule on Friday, March 11.

Mrs. Mason’s freshman students created book spine poetry. Students and staff voted Group 5 as the winners - check out their poem!
Book spine poetry is made up of words from the spine of books. Students arrange them until the book titles create a poem.


Yesterday, Mr. Koby Albrecht (2nd Grade) and Ms. Kelsi Sankot (Business) were on location, recruiting at the ISU Teacher Education Career Fair! Many DC teachers have graduated from this program, including Mr. Albrecht. We’re excited for the opportunities ahead, as we recruit high-quality teachers for our students.

Attention Seniors/Senior Parents-
Jostens will be at the school Wednesday, March 9, during the lunch hour from 11:45-1:00 to hand out graduation announcements. If you ordered your items through Jostens, please plan to pick them up during this time. Please contact the high school office with any questions.

Seniors and senior parents are invited to come to a scholarship workshop in the high school commons during parent teacher conferences Thursday, March 3, anytime between 1-8pm. Mrs. Wilfawn will be available to help fill out applications and answer questions. Dollars for Scholars applications will also be available. Any student that fills out a Dollars for Scholars application is guaranteed to receive some amount of money. Please take advantage of this great opportunity! Contact the high school office with any questions.

Emmitt Newton won his first match. Dawson Townsend and Taylor Huggins both lost. They will wrestle back yet this morning.
