Freshman and new student orientation is TONIGHT beginning at 5:30 in the high school commons followed by the Back to School Block Party! All 9th-12th students and families are encouraged to attend the block party beginning at 6pm!


Class of 2023, if you ordered a yearbook, you can pick it up from the High School office. If you can't make it in to get it, you can have someone else pick it up and deliver it to you. Contact Mrs. Ware with any yearbook-related questions.
All additional yearbooks will be delivered to students at school by August 30th. If you didn't order one but would like one, make sure to contact Mrs. Ware to get on a waiting list.


Don't miss out on the DCHS Back to School Block Party on Monday, Aug 21st at 6pm!
We have lots of fun things planned including popcorn, bouncy house, rock climbing wall (donated by the Iowa Army National Guard), pull-up bar challenge (donated by Marines), cornhole tournament, ice cream, club sign-ups, Monte the Mustang, face painting and more!
Be sure to sign up at the prize table when you arrive. We will be giving away LOTS of great items that include gift cards, swag bags, custom DC water bottles, pool pass, just to name a few. Also, see the Junior Optimist table to embark on the Selfie Scavenger hunt for even more prize opportunities!
Our band, choir, cheerleaders and color guard will be pumping everyone up for the year with the school song!
The cornhole tournament is sponsored by DCHS Student Council and winners will receive a FREE activity pass for the year! All proceeds will go to student council to help with even MORE fun student activities throughout the school year.
This is definitely an event you don't want to miss! ALL 9th-12th grade students and family are welcome to attend!



The 2023-2024 school year is right around the corner! Please make sure to register your child in the PowerSchool parent portal. For those needing additional assistance, Registration Day is Monday, August 7 11:00AM-7:00PM in the High School Library. We would be happy to help with the registration process and answer any questions you have!

Exploring Health Careers Sumer Program at IHCC!
This is a great opportunity for students to get an up-close look at a variety of different careers in health care. It is open to current sophomores and juniors, and please note that this is an exploratory program and students will not earn college credit.

Sunday, May 21, Mustang Stadium will open it’s gates at 11:30am. Commencement ceremony begins at 2pm.

The DCHS graduation ceremony will be live streamed by Ottumwa Radio Group. Congratualtions and good luck to the class of 2023!


On Wednesday, staff held a senior breakfast for the 2023 graduates. They were surprised with breakfast, a senior slideshow, well wishes cards from staff, and their 8th grade letters to themselves. A fun time was had by all celebrating their accomplishments together!

The 2023 Davis County High School Graduation Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2:00PM at Mustang Stadium. If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved inside to the HS gymnasium. Information will be posted on Facebook and available on the website that day after 10:00 am to verify the location. We will be asking students if they have a need in their family for special seating for someone who is handicapped. to please let the office know as soon as possible. We will do everything in our power to accommodate your request.


Senior Awards Night will be held next Wednesday, May 17th at 6:00pm in the HS gym. All seniors are highly encouraged to attend. Seniors sit together in the front rows of the chairs set up in front of the stage. Caps & gowns do not need to be worn , but please dress appropriately as this is a formal event.
