DAVIS COUNTY PRESCHOOL
About Davis County Preschool
Davis County’s Preschool program is 4 full-days of instruction led by licensed teachers at no cost to you. The Program accepts all students that turn four years of age on or before Sept. 15th of the current school year; three-year-old students as-of the same date will be admitted with limited capacity. Davis County Preschool partners with Sieda Davis Headstart and is funded through Sieda Headstart, Early Childhood Iowa, and the Davis County Community School District.
Teachers in the Davis County Preschool utilize the Creative Curriculum for Preschool teaching strategies, with the goal of providing developmentally appropriate, individualized instruction to prepare children for success in school and life. The Creative Curriculum uses the latest child development theory and research as a basis for defining the practices that lead to effective teaching and meeting the needs of all children. Children can learn to solve problems, experiment, be creative, use language and increase attention span and self-confidence.
Preschool Philosophy
The Davis County Community School District’s Preschool curriculum is based on the philosophy that young children learn best in an environment that affords them the opportunity to explore, discover, and enjoy the learning process while engaging in creative integrated hands-on learning activities that encompass the needs of the whole child.
