Interscholastic Competition

  

State Rules  Students desiring to participate in interscholastic athletics, music, speech and other activities must meet eligibility requirements of the State Department of Public Instruction and of any governing organization of the activity, including, but not limited too:

           a.     All contestants must be enrolled and in good standing in the district;

           b.     All contestants must be under 20 years of age;

           c.     All contestants must have earned at least 3 credits toward graduation in the  preceding semester;

           d.     All contestants shall be making passing grades in classes for which at least 3                                                       credits is given;

           e.     No contestant shall be eligible to participate in an interscholastic athletic sport if the student has engaged in that sport professionally or has been a member of a college squad or has trained with a college squad or participated in a college contest;

           f.      Any student entering the district after the second school week of the semester shall be ineligible to participate in interscholastic athletic contests during that semester without permission of the governing organization;

           g.     Any student who transfers from another district shall be ineligible to compete in          

                  Interscholastic athletics for a period of 18 weeks of school, unless the student                                               transfers due to a change in parental residence, except with approval of the governing organization.

Medical Exams  All students desiring to participate in interscholastic athletics shall present a certificate signed by a licensed physician to the effect that the student has been examined and may safely engage in athletic competition.
