Code No. 502.2 Student Personnel
Care of School Property/Vandalism
Students will treat school district property with the care and the respect they would treat their own property. Students found to have destroyed or otherwise harmed school district property may be required to reimburse the school district. They may be subject to discipline under board policy and the school district rules and regulations. They may also be referred to local law enforcement authorities.
Any student vandalizing school property may be subject to a three day out of school suspension and barred from school activities for a period of seven calendar days. This includes the throwing of toilet paper (tee-peeing) and any other act that would be considered vandalism or harassment. Any incident to a person or their property shall be the responsibility of the local police and court system. This policy is in effect throughout the year.
It is the responsibility of the superintendent, in conjunction with the principal, to develop administrative rules regarding this policy.
