Vice-President

If the board president is unable or unwilling to carry out the duties required, it shall be the responsibility of the vice-president of the school board to carry out the duties of president.  The vice-president shall serve as president until a new president can be elected.

The vice-president of the school board shall be elected at the organizational meeting in September each year to serve a one year term of office.  The election of the vice-president shall be by voice vote.

The vice-president shall serve until the next organizational meeting when a new vice-president shall be elected.  The vice-president shall accept the gavel from the president when the president wishes to make or second a motion.  The vice-president shall take an active role in school board decisions by discussing and voting on each motion before the board in the same manner as other board members.
